Using a Unique Challenge/Partnership/Paring to Impact and Inspire Your Event

Inspiration is everywhere and it’s something we all crave.

It’s what reminds us that we’re alive and that these bones can still move.

Even though inspiration can be found by simply watching a sunrise, it can be much more difficult to capture that feeling – the essence of life and motion – and make it resonate.

It feels like a powerful thing to do. Because it is.

Creating inspiration is influential and it’s impactful.

One of the best ways to enhance your show is to combine two seemingly unconnected entities and marry them in a way that’s unexpected.

Let me explain…

Recently, a Show Manager for a perfumery show created unique menus that used fragrance notes based on the 7 fragrance families. The show manager worked with the facility’s in-house Chefs to carefully highlight aromatics that would not only awaken taste buds but provoke the senses as well.

It was an unexpected union and it was deliciously unforgettable.

Food is always a great place to start, but you can also use other things like entertainment and interactive challenges to impact your event in unique ways.

The sky is the limit when it comes to unique ideas that can leave an impression.

I like to take the following basic ideas and then run with them and make them my own.

But first…

Team Up

Collaborating with a partner is always a smart idea. By joining forces and creating a new and unique partnership you can utilize each other’s strengths and combined assets to give your event greater impact and visibility.

I love to create a challenge for my attendees to participate in and document it on film while they work to complete the task(s).

You can kick it up a notch and have an influencer or a team of experts face off to a challenge and live stream it on various social networks. They get to show off their skillset and it’s a great way to engage your audience.

Also, a big hit; focused challenges. For example, for a home show, you can bring in a designer who has to complete a room redecorating during the course of the day.

I mean, who doesn’t want to watch a real-life version of Fixer Upper???

Hype It

Don’t let your efforts go to waste by not creating buzz. It’s VERY important so don’t forget this step.

If you need help, this previous post of mine has got your back.

Hype it for now. Hype it for later.

Give your unique event some post-show attention by showing people what they missed-from all those awesome videos that were shot-and use it to promote next years event.

Now it’s YOUR TURN…

…to get out there and get inspired.

You never know where inspiration will take you.
